Dear Community Partner,
As of August 1, 2026 the Department of Homeless Services will transition intake and assessment operations for men and adult families from its current location at 400 East 30th Street in Manhattan.
Beginning August 1, 2026, single adult men seeking shelter will need to apply at 8 East 3rd Street and Adult Families seeking shelter will need to apply at 333 Bowery in Manhattan.
In the interim, intake services will continue at the current 30th Street location through July 31, 2026.
We are asking for your assistance in informing clients and staff to help ensure a smooth transition for those impacted by this change. Please share this information widely with affected clients and staff across your organizations. DSS and DHS are working closely with our City and State partners to conduct a comprehensive outreach and communications effort. We will be providing informational materials with you to support this transition as they become available.
