New York City parents with young children are invited to participate in the NYC Parent Survey, a first-of-its-kind opportunity to shape the future of child care in New York City.

The City of New York is ready to deliver free care to more families but needs parents to share what child care they prefer for their family: what kind of care they want, where they want it, and when they want it.

How to make families' voices heard

Families should check their mail for a postcard invitation to complete the survey. Families receiving a postcard can go to nycparents.norc.org and enter their PIN to complete the survey and receive a digital payment of $10.

The survey is available in English and Spanish and should take no more than 15 minutes to complete. Please note all survey responses are voluntary, and no personally identifiable information (e.g., name, email, address) will be shared with the City of New York.

If a family does not receive the postcard, they are still encouraged to make their voice heard. Please go to nyc.gov/parentsurvey to access the survey. If eligible, the family will receive an email from NORC to complete the NYC Parent Survey. 

The survey is scheduled to close on Sunday, April 12, 2026.
